Edward L. Wahl
Edward L. Wahl, 92, of Evans City passed away on Saturday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born on July 12, 1921, in Forward Township, he was the son of the late Edward and Hazel (Leighton) Wahl.
Edward was a proud U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, who was active in the 305th Bomb Group during World War II.
He retired from the Quality Control Department at Mine Safety on June 30, 1986.
Edward was a member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City, the 8th Air Force Historical Society, the American Air Museum in Britain and the VFW Post 499 in Evans City.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Florence (Wills) Wahl, who he married on Oct. 20, 1945; his two sons, Terry E. Wahl of Evans City and David A. Wahl of California; his five grandchildren, Marian, Edward, Heather (Jessie) Kowalski, Sarah (Gary) Collins and Jennifer (Matt) Kilmer; and his five great-grandchildren, Catherine, John, Ava, Jack and Spencer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Martin.
WAHL — A funeral ceremony for Edward L. Wahl, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City, with the Rev. David R.
