William C. Hayes, 67, of Valencia died on Friday morning at the Butler VNA Hospice.

Born in Pittsburgh on July 25, 1946, he was the son of the late John Leo and Mary E. Story Hayes.

Bill had been an aircraft mechanic for US Airways in Pittsburgh for 24 years.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mars VFW Post 7505 and the Carnegie Elks. He was an avid golfer.

He was also a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry Township, and had coached youth baseball at Crafton/Ingram and youth football in Greentree.

He was the husband of Alice C. Boyle Hayes, who he married on May 31, 1969; father of William Hayes Jr., and his wife, Renee, of Mars, Shane Saddler and her husband, Bill, and Jason Hayes and his wife, Kim, both of Virginia Beach Va.; the grandfather of Alicia, Levi, Lindsey, Bo, Hope, Haylee, Logen, Jeffrey, Troy and Regina; and the brother of Mary Fox and her husband, Jim, of Aliquippa and Jack Hayes and his wife, Nancy, of Scott Township. He also is survived by nieces and nephews.

HAYES — Friends of William C. Hayes, who died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars on Thursday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Kilian Church, at the corner of Clark and Cherry streets in Mars, at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev.
