M. Irene Bronson Zimmerman, 94, of Zelienople, formerly of Erie, passed away Tuesday in Concordia of Cranberry.

Born Sept. 25, 1919, in Blairsville, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Mabel Degitz Bronson.

Irene was a member of Luther Memorial Church, Erie.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Zimmerman, who died in November 2007; an infant daughter; one son; four sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Clair) Greenawalt of Zelienople; and two grandsons, Matthew D. (Carley Parsons) Greenawalt and Brian W. (Alyssa) Greenawalt, both of Zelienople.

Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.
