Doreen Soley, 85, of Winter Haven, Fla., passed away Friday at the home of her daughter.

Doreen was born in Southampton, England, on June 3, 1928. She was married in England in September of 1945, and moved to Butler, where she was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of The British Wives Club, the St. Matthew Catholic Church, and a volunteer at the Regenerations Resale Shop.

After her husband retired, they did some traveling and moved to Florida in the mid-1970s, living at Sun City Center before moving to Winter Haven in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Peter Soley, in 1996, and her daughter, Ann Marie Lawrence, three months prior.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Don) Filipek; her son, Peter (Pat) Soley; her son-in-law, Robert Lawrence; her five grandchildren, David Soley, Scott Lawrence, Trina Soley Weber, Marie Filipek Victorine and Phil Filipek; and her four great-grandchildren.

SOLEY — A memorial service for Doreen Soley, who passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, will be Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Winter Haven, Fla.
