Bertha M. Hollefreund, 93, of Butler passed away Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Butler on Aug. 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Helen Hamill Plaisted.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the Graceway Community Church.

She enjoyed picture puzzles, reading and spending time with her family. Her two grandchildren were the joy of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Zulick-Check and her husband, Brian, of Butler; her two grandchildren, Kelly and Brad Zulick; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Hollefreund Jr., who passed away on Sept. 24, 1997; two brothers; and four sisters.

Hollefreund — The friends of Bertha M. Hollefreund, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, will be received at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.The funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. David West of the Graceway Community Church officiating.
