Daniel R. McKenzie
Daniel R. McKenzie, 68, of Zelienople passed away Thursday in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his family.
Born June 16, 1945, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Clyde and Gladys (Hueling) McKenzie.
For over 35 years, he worked as a rigger at J&L Steel in Pittsburgh.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. Dan was known for having a great sense of humor and, above all, was a proud and caring father, grandfather and adoring husband who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Dan leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 48 years, Kaye (Steele) McKenzie of Zelienople; his three daughters, Sylvia Krchmar and her husband, Eric, of Ellwood City, Lindsay Cost and her husband, Jay, of Harmony and Danielle McKenzie; his brother, Richard McKenzie and his wife, Sandy, of West Sunbury; his sister, Nancy Niemetz and her husband, Gary, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and his six grandchildren, Thomas, Aaron, Alex, James, McKayla and Evelyn.
MCKENZIE — Friends of Daniel R. McKenzie, who died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of a funeral ceremony with military honors at 8 p.m. Monday at the Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Dan's family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his honor to the CVE Library, 300 S.
