Helen Gade

Helen J. Gade, 86, of Zelienople, formerly of Maple Court, passed away Monday at Creek Meadows Senior Guest Haus.

Born on March 8, 1927, in Weirton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Stella (Karlinski) Jezierski.

Helen was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople and a 1945 graduate of Weir High School.

Following graduation, she worked as an operator for the Chesapeake & Potomac (C & P) Telephone Co. in Weirton, W.Va. After moving to Pittsburgh, she was employed by the Bell Telephone Co. In her later years, she was the assistant manager for Busy Bee Discounts in Zelienople until its closing. She retired from the housekeeping department of Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting blankets, baking and flower gardening. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Thomas Gade and his wife, Barbara, of Meridian; her four granddaughters, Heather Gade of Baltimore, Md., Rachel Chennault and her husband, Brandon, of Saugerties, N.Y., Jessie Gade of Denver, Colo., and Eden Gade of Meridian; her great-granddaughter, Pamela Chennault, and her sister-in-law, Cecelia Jezierski of Weirton, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gade, who she married May 10, 1952, and who passed away June 26, 1984; her five brothers, and her two sisters.

GADE — The family of Helen J. Gade, who passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with Father Lawrence R. Smith as celebrant.She will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Catholic Church Cemetery.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the American Diabetes Association, 100 W.
