Marion Emma Haas
Marion Emma (Bachman) Haas, 91, of Sarver passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
She was a lifelong resident of the Saxonburg area, born on Nov. 3, 1922, in Jefferson Township, Butler County. She was the daughter of the late Wilbert A. and Laura B. (Neupert) Bachman.
Marion was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1940, and had previously worked as a telephone operator for the Saxonburg Telephone Co.
In July of 1943, she married Andrew F. Haas of Sarver, who passed away in 2005. Marion dedicated herself as a mother and homemaker to her family, loved taking care of her home and enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and knitting.
Marion was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Saxonburg and also was a member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company women’s auxiliary.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Imy Rosenblatt of Pittsburgh; one son, Teddy L. (Dana) Haas; one grandson, Jesse W. (Alicia) Haas; and two great-grandsons, Jayson and Evan, all of Sarver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Haas, and her sisters.
HAAS — Friends of Marion Emma (Bachman) Haas, who died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, will be received from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. A funeral service will follow at noon with the Rev. James Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Saxonburg or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Pittsburgh Chapter.
