Cinderella of the Year — The Slippery Rock High baseball team got hot toward the end of the season, winning five of their last six games and shocked District 10 with three straight one-run victories to claim the Class AAA championship.

Streak of the Year — Cabot resident Tom Henschel extends Super Bowl streak to 47.

Repeat of the Year — Former Slippery Rock standout and Vanderbilt University graduate Jence Rhoads was named Guard of the Year in Romania after winning the same award in Iceland the year before.

Three-peat of the Year — The Seneca Valley baseball team captured its third consecutive section title and played in its third WPIAL championship in a row.

Four-peat of the Year — The Mars Eagle County League team won it’s fourth consecutive league title.

Milestone of the Year — Karns City senior forward Breann Wood became just the third player in Gremlin girls’ soccer history to score more than 100 goals in her career.

Disrupter of the Year — Freeport sophomore Logan Thimons led the state in tackles for an interior defensive lineman with 97 and also was in the top 20 in the country.

Spoiler of the Year — The Slippery Rock Sliders beat the Butler BlueSox 7-5 on the final day of the Prospect League season to knock the BlueSox out of playoff contention. It would be the Sliders’ last game in Slippery Rock as the team was sold and moved to Ohio.

All-purpose Performer of the Year — Seneca Valley senior quarterback T.J. Holl amassed more than 3,000 all-purpose yards this season for the Raiders and also was responsible for 27 touchdowns.

Dominating Performance of the Year — Knoch senior outside hitter Celina Sanks had 33 kills in an epic five-game win over Freeport.

Record-Breaker of the Year — David Bocci, 10, breaks Eric Namesnik’s 50-yard backstroke YMCA swimming record.

Break-Through of the Year —Evans City’s Brandon Spithaler wins Sprint points championship in his first full year of racing at Lernerville Speedway.

Comeback of the Year — John Tabisz returns as Slippery Rock High School girls basketball coach after 11-year hiatus.
