Happy New Year! Eve celebration options abound
Several New Year’s Eve celebrations are available to area residents.
Harmony’s family-oriented Silvester New Year’s Eve welcomes the New Year at 6 p.m. Tuesday, which is midnight in Germany.
Activities leading up to the 6 p.m. ball drop and fireworks will include a 5-K run/walk and 1-mile fun run/walk, Harmony Museum tours, a comedy film short “Dinner for One,” a pork and sauerkraut dinner, bratwursts and hot dogs served by the Harmony Volunteer Fire Co., gift basket drawings and live music at the Bottlebrush art gallery.

St. Ferdinand Parish in Cranberry Township will host its annual New Year’s Eve party beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Marriott-Pittsburgh North, Route 228.
Tickets are $80 through Sunday. Tickets must be bought in advance. Reserved seating is available. Those age 18 and older may attend.

The ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, a three-course dinner, champagne or sparkling juice toast, two drink tickets, and music by a disc jockey.

Tanglewood Center will be the site of a New Year’s Eve party featuring dancing to live music by The Jentz.
Doors will open at 8 p.m. Tuesday with music starting at 9 p.m. at the center at 10 Austin Ave., Lyndora.
The menu will include hot dogs, sauerkraut, pork and kielbasa and beverages.
Hats and noisemakers will be provided.
