Louis Pollifrone

Louis Pollifrone, 87, of Butler passed away at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday at VA Butler Healthcare surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1926, in Herman, Pa., to the late Pasquale Pollifrone and Victoria Pollifrone.

Mr. Pollifrone was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

He was a welder at Pullman Standard, retiring after 33 years of service.

Mr. Pollifrone was a member of the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora, the VFW Post 249 and the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, repairing mowers and tractors and spending time with his family.

Mr. Pollifrone is survived by his wife, Gloria I. Pollifrone, who he married on Sept. 10, 1951; his daughter, Linda Miller and her husband, Ernest, of Butler; his three grandchildren, Ernest E. Miller III and his wife, Colleen, Mandee Stivanson and her husband, Dennis, and Aimee Robeson and her husband, Stephen; his five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters and his four brothers.

Pollifrone — The friends of Louis Pollifrone, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.The funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Krajacic of the Community Alliance Church officiating.The burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park. Officers and members of the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and the VFW Post 249 will conduct full military honors.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
