Thor M. Andersen, 88, of Butler passed away at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Lowrie House.

He was born on Aug. 24, 1925, in Bergen, Norway, to the late Konrad Willy Andersen and Helga (Asserude) Andersen.

Mr. Andersen was the owner and operator of RATEL TV Engineer Labs in Butler.

He attended the St. John's Reformed Church. Mr. Andersen was a former member of the Rotary Club and the Kiwanis.

Mr. Andersen is survived by his five daughters, Terry Werner of Butler, Anita Popolis and her husband, Dennis, of Kittanning, Angie Collins and her husband, Bert, of Atlanta, Ga., Leslie Andersen of Parrish, Fla., and Lisa Kellerman and her husband, David (Rock), of Butler; his son, Chuck Kutan and his wife, Cheryl, of Houston, Texas; and his eight grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne M. Andersen, who passed away on May 22, 2002, and his son, John D. Andersen.
