Douglas J. Lambert, 56, of Valencia, Middlesex Township, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday.

He was born on Oct. 3, 1957, in Pittsburgh, the beloved son of the late Morris Roy and Florence (Brandt) Lambert.

He was the beloved husband for 29 years of Grace (Leslie) Lambert; the loving father of Ethan, Dylan, and Maggie Lambert, all at home; and the dear brother of Robert (Diane) Lambert of Mars, William (Diane) Lambert of Mars and Diane (John) Ciafre of Renfrew. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Doug was owner of the Lambert Plumbing Company and a longtime baseball coach for Mars Baseball Association. An avid outdoorsman, hunter and trap shooter, he was a longtime member of both West View Sportsman's Club and Mars Rod and Gun Club. Doug most of all enjoyed being with his family, especially at their cottage on Yough Lake where they loved boating, skiing, and being together on the water. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend, and will be dearly missed.

LAMBERT — The family of Douglas J. Lambert, who died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, will welcome friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Funeral services and interment will be held privately.In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Mars Baseball Association, P.O. Box 630, Mars, PA 16046.
