Gregory John Uram

Gregory Uram

Gregory John Uram passed away peacefully Wednesday.

He was born in Butler to the late John and Mary Uram.

He went to school in the Butler School District, where he was a star baseball player. He was a brother to Ron Uram (Barbara), and an uncle to many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 35 years, Valerie Parmenter Uram. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his sons, Jeff and Daniel Scalia (Heather), and his three grandsons.

Gregg graduated from the University of Cincinnati. During his college work study, he was employed at Lockheed. He helped with the design of a satellite that was launched in 1969. He spent most of his career working for GE, Applied Materials and Raytheon.

Gregg enjoyed sports and was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He taught baseball to his son, Daniel, at Little League, where he was the team coach. He cherished being a grandfather to his three grandsons. His sense of humor was greatly recognized and appreciated by everyone he knew. He loved his dog, Sherlock, and was a fan of Fry's Electronics. Therefore, it was natural for him to shuttle the dog in the shopping cart during frequent visits to Fry's. One of his favorite things to do was going to stand-up comedy shows with his wife. Most of all, he enjoyed spending quality with his family.

URAM — A celebration of the life of Gregory John Uram, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, will be determined later.
