Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its first live Nativity scene from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in front of the Haven II building at 148 Marwood Road, Winfield Township. The event is free. The scene will feature people from throughout the Concordia family, both staff and residents, and live animals. Live Christmas music, hot beverages and refreshments will be provided indoors as well as a gift for the first 200 children age 12 and younger. Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania will host a holiday tea on Saturday at the Succop Conservancy, 185 Airport Road, Penn Township. Included will be carols, a craft and a holiday story along with tea and treats. Call 412-963-6100 or visit www.aswp.org to register.
McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, will host “Hemlock Hikes” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Park in the Kildoo picnic area and meet at the gristmill. Dress for the weather, and take enough food and water. Those who don’t hike are still welcome for the 20 minute information session. Call 724-368-3612 between 8 and 10 a.m. the morning of the hike to make sure the weather hasn’t canceled it.
