Jane Goehring Foreman
Jane Goehring Foreman, 87, of Butler was called home Wednesday to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born on March 24, 1926, in Ambridge, Pa., she was the daughter of Arthur and Ione (Work) Brutout.
Jane was a woman of great faith. She lived with her youngest child, Shari Beres and her husband, Steve; her grandchildren, Cassandra and Steven; and her dear great-grandchild, Carter Beres, in Butler, before she relocated to Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
She proudly earned her degree in nursing from Beaver Valley General Hospital in 1948.
In her early years, she had the privilege of working alongside Jonas Salk to develop the polio vaccine.
In her later years, she enjoyed completing puzzles, milkshakes and being with her family. Jane was known for her compassionate spirit and the gentle hugs and kisses she always had for those around her. She opened her heart and her home to anyone in need. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Ronald Goehring and his wife, Debbie, of Nicaragua, Sandy Goehring of Florida, Richard Goehring and his wife, Susan, of Canada, Robert Goehring and his wife, Carolyn, of Ellwood City and Shari Beres and her husband, Steve, of Butler; her 15 grandchildren; her numerous great-grandchildren; her special friend who was like a daughter to her, Tanya Hulver; and her caretakers at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, who became much like family members.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Foreman, and her two brothers, Robert and Bernard Brutout.
FOREMAN — A celebration of life gathering for Jane Goehring Foreman, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Harmony Museum, 218 Mercer St., Harmony. Please bring a special memory of Mom along with a covered dish. If you are unable to attend, the family will welcome a card or letter with a memory you shared with her.A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries for the Concordia family and close friends with Pastor Barry Keurulainen officiating.The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E.
