Joseph Benjamin Gentry

Joseph Gentry

Joseph Benjamin Gentry, 44, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Greensboro, N.C., passed away Wednesday at the First Health Hospice and Palliative Care in Pinehurst, N.C.

“A living is what a man makes from what he gets, while a life is what he makes from what he gives.” No truer statement could have been made regarding Joe Gentry.

While Joe was employed as a manager by RICOH, Inc. in Pittsburgh, he gave his life to his family and friends. Joe dearly loved watching and coaching his sons as they played baseball and hockey. He was always looking after the welfare of others, careful that he did not become a burden to anyone. And, oh, how he loved his ice cream!

Joe is survived by his sons, Ryan, Nick and Luke Gentry at home; his mother, Bennie Gentry of Greensboro, his father and stepmother, Rick and “Cricket” Gentry of Pinehurst, N.C.; his sister, Kristen Gavin (James) of Greensboro; his former wife, Jeanne Gentry of Pittsburgh; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
