State Rep. Stevenson will retire next year
GROVE CITY — State Rep. Dick Stevenson, who has served the 8th District in Mercer and Butler counties since 2001, announced today that he will not seek re-election in 2014.
Stevenson said, “I am grateful for having had this opportunity to serve. It has been an honor and a privilege.”
In 2010 Stevenson was elected by his colleagues to a position of leadership as the Republican Caucus administrator.
He wrote nine bills that directly affect small businesses, veterans, and local government.
Before his state service, Stevenson was chairman of the Mercer County Commissioners and was a member and president of the Grove City Borough Council.
Stevenson had been the owner of Stevenson and Co., a real estate appraising firm, for more than 20 years
