Barbara Ann Smith

Barbara Ann Smith, 80, of Gibsonia, Deerfield Beach, Fla., and most recently Kingsport, Tenn., passed away Friday at the Holston Valley Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 16, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Edward J. Fausel and Jessie Edsall Fausel (McMickle).

She was a graduate of Lasalle Junior College in Auburndale, Mass., and attended The Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Austria.

Mrs. Smith was an office manager for five plastic surgeons for 33 years, retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, dancing, singing and was a master level bridge player. She attended Mass at the St. Dominic Catholic Church in Kingsport.

Surviving are her two sons, Kevin E. Warren and his wife, Stephanie, of Auburndale, Fla., and Michael D. Warren and his wife, Lucretia, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; her two daughters, Kathleen M. Carlton and her husband, James, of Piney Flats, Tenn., and Meg A. Foster and her husband, Daniel, of Kingsport, Tenn.; her adopted son, Brian Nelson and his wife, Enza, of Naples, Fla.; her seven stepsons, Richard A. Smith Jr. and his wife, Loretta, of Redondo Beach, Calif., Patrick M. Smith and his wife, Rita Marie, of New Cumberland, Pa., Gary E. Smith of Huntingtown, Md., David J. Smith and his wife, Jamie, of Valencia, Kevin T. Smith and his wife, Sonya, of Morgantown, W.Va., Stephen F. Smith and his wife, Lydia, of Valencia, and Mark V. Smith and his wife, Teddi, of Flatwood, Ky., and her two stepdaughters, Dr. Kathleen Mizik and her husband, Ted, of Irwin, Pa., and Rosemary Natale and her husband, Ralph, of Baden, Pa. Her 33 grandchildren, her 11½ great-grandchildren; her brother, Donald E. Fausel and his wife, Eunice, and numerous nephews and nieces also survive.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Bonner Warren, in 1965 and her second husband, Richard A. Smith, in 2012.

SMITH — The visitation for Barbara Ann Smith, who passed away Friday Oct. 18, 2013, will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. following visitation. The interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Coylesville.The arrangements are by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E.
