Broadway Boys bring holiday tunes to SRU

Members of the Broadway Boys will perform new arrangements of traditional Christmas and inspirational selections Dec. 8 at Slippery Rock University.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Broadway Boys will perform their high energy vocals in a holiday show at 4 p.m. Dec. 8 in the University Union at Slippery Rock University.

This show, part of the SRU Performing Arts Series, will feature classic songs that have been reinvented, show tunes with a contemporary flare and holiday selections.

The Broadway Boys is a collection of singers who are working on the New York stage. Event performers are selected from a group of about 20 singers, depending on who is available in juggling Broadway performances or rehearsals.

The holiday show will offer new arrangements of traditional Christmas and inspirational selections along with a Hanukkah song. Also planned are “Lullaby of Broadway” from “42nd Street”; “Corner of the Sky” from “Pippin”; “December, 1963” from “Jersey Boys” and “Where Is Love” from “Oliver!”

AVI, SRU’s contract food vendor, will offer a dinner at 1:30 p.m. in the University Union. The dinner is $20.95 with reservations due Dec. 2 to 724-738-4644.

Show tickets are $22 for adults; $20 for senior citizens; $18 for youths; and $8 for SRU students. Call 724-738-2018.
