WINFIELD TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its first live Nativity scene from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 15 in front of the Haven II building at 148 Marwood Road. The event is free.

The scene will feature people from throughout the Concordia family, both staff and residents, and live animals.

Live Christmas music, hot beverages and refreshments will be provided indoors as well as a gift for the first 200 children age 12 and younger.

This will be a “walk-through” nativity, so guests are encouraged to dress warmly.

Steve and Gale Loder of Ellwood City will be autographing copies of their “Quality Venison Cookbook” and serving venison samples from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Books-A-Million store in the Clearview Mall.The couple has sold nearly 75,000 copies of all of their cookbooks. PITTSBURGH — The Carnegie Museum of Art's traditional holiday trees with show a pop of purple this year starting Dec. 5.Each year, six fresh 20-foot Colorado spruce trees fill the museum's Hall of Architecture, flanking the 18th-century Neapolitan presepio Nativity scene.The trees theme this year will be “Embracing the Art of Play” with unique decorations for each tree inspired by the 2013 Carnegie International. The Hall of Architecture is the site of an installation by artist Gabriel Sierra, who has painted the walls of the space purple and added subtle purple sculptural forms.The trees will be displayed through Jan. 12. The Neapolitan presepio will be on view Nov. 29 to Jan. 9.
