Winifred B. Fox, 95, of Butler, formerly of Swissvale, Pa., passed away Wednesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.

She was born Sept. 2, 1918, in Swissvale, the daughter of the late Thomas and Barbara Lydon Thornton.

She was a former sales clerk at Grants and at Ben Franklin Stores in Swissvale.

She was also a former longtime member of Saint Anselm Roman Catholic Church in Swissvale. She was now a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

She was a loving mother who greatly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Greco and her husband, Francis, of Butler, with who she made her home for the past 10 years; her two sons, Edward Fox and his wife, Lynn, of Michigan and Michael Fox and his wife, Lee Ann, of Chester, Pa.; her daughter-in-law, Colleen Humberson of Swissvale; her 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Fox; four brothers, and three sisters.

FOX — The friends of Winifred B. Fox, who passed away Wednesday Oct. 16, 2013, will be received at Martin Funeral Home, INC., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Butler. Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
