Rocco J. Bono

Rocco J. Bono, 95, of Kittanning, formerly of Buffalo Valley, passed away Tuesday at ACMH Hospital.

He was born April 1, 1918, to the late James and Mary (Trott) Bono.

He was a 1936 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School.

He retired from the U.S. Steel Corp.

He and was a member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville. He also was a member of Buffalo Valley Sportsman Club and the Kittanning Eagles.

He enjoyed playing basketball, bowling and playing horseshoes.

Rocco was a resident of Rivercliff Terrance for 16 years. The care he received there was excellent and was very comforting to his family.

He is survived by his sons, James (Shirley) Bono of Butler, Edward (Diane) Bono of Indiana, Pa., and Herman (Peggy) Bono of Gibsonia; his nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and his great-great-grandchild. He also is survived by his sisters, Delores Bono of Buffalo Valley and Frances (Andy) Abranovich of Kittanning, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Twila Bono in 2003; his four sisters, and his five brothers.

BONO — A Mass of Christian burial for Rocco J. Bono, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.

The funeral arrangements are entrusted to F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, Worthington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
