Alfred 'Ike' Dale Swartzlander

Alfred “Ike” Dale Swartzlander, 87, of Fenelton passed away Monday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born on Oct. 28, 1925, in Clearfield Township, Butler County, the son of the late Frank E. Swartzlander and Sara (Gaiser) Swartzlander.

Ike was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Worthington. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge 796 and to the New Castle Consistory. He also was a member of the Happy Hunters' Club. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ike was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Ike was the owner and operator of Ready Mix Concrete in Butler for more than 40 years.

Surviving are his wife, who he married on July 3, 1951, Adaline M. (Miller) Swartzlander; his daughter, Mrs. Randy (Agnes) Neupert of Worthington; his son, John Swartzlander of Fenelton; his three grandchildren, Stacy Zanicky, Kristina Ealy and Amanda Crytzer; his four great-grandchildren, Shane and Shelby Zanicky and Michael and Natalie Ealy; his sister, Rebecca Crawford of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sons, Dale and David; and his two brothers.

Swartzlander — The friends of Alfred “Ike” Dale Swartzlander, who passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.The services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Hester Shick officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.
