Betty O. Amsler
Betty O. Amsler, 89, formerly of Hershey Road, Erie, Pa., died Saturday at the Corry Manor.
She was born on Nov. 16, 1923, in Foxburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Walter and Ida Stewart Grazier.
Betty was raised and educated in Foxburg, Pa., and following her marriage to Richard Amsler on Dec. 24, 1942, her main priority was raising and caring for her family.
She was an active member of the Summit United Methodist Church in Erie. Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, flower gardening and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four sisters, Opal Page Clawges, Helen Sindone, Annabelle Page and Neda Carroll Borish; her brother, Wayne Grazier; and her grandson Benjamin Shipley.
Betty is survived by her husband, Richard Amsler of Corry; her daughter, Marcia Shipley and her husband, Layne Party, of Baltimore, Md.; her son, David Amsler and his wife, Bonnie, of Corry, Pa.; and her two grandsons, Brian and Stephen Amsler.
Amsler — The family and friends of Betty O. Amsler, who died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lynn Cirigliano, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry.
