Helen D. Geyer
Helen D. Geyer of Cheswick passed away Friday at The Willows, Presbyterian SeniorCare facility, Oakmont.
She was born Nov. 10, 1917, in Worthington to the late James M. and Mary F. Green Hawley.
Helen attended the one-room Wilson School, and graduated from Worthington High School and Duff’s Business School in Pittsburgh.
In her early years, she worked at the Schenley Distillery.
Helen was a homemaker. She also had been a Cub Scout den mother and was active volunteer at St. Margarets Hospital, Aspinwall, for many years. She was a member of the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church.
Helen is survived by three sons, George S. (Carol) Geyer of Wyoming, Richard H. (Beverly) Geyer of West Sunbury and Stanley J. (Mariann) Geyer of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Regina F. (John) McCollum of Oakmont; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She is the last of her generation and was preceded in death by her husband George S. Geyer Sr., who passed away in 1992; her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.
GEYER — Friends of Helen D. Geyer, who died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, are welcome for visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME, 1607 Pittsburgh St., Cheswick, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Dorseyville.
