Anne “Amy” (Zavacky) Passarelli, 98, of Butler passed away Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Aug. 22, 1915, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Sluk Zavacky.

She was the wife of the late Raymond R. Passarelli, who died Aug. 5, 1985.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora and a member of the church choir. Amy was well known for her advice to everybody: “If you want to live long, don’t hate.”

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Eugenia King, Mrs. Christine Soley and Mrs. Georgia Hartman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, R. Noel Passarelli; four sisters, Helen Lachester, Sally Zymboly, Olga Zavacky and Julie Gavula; and two brothers, John Zavacky and Emil “Eugene” Zavacky.

PASSARELLI — Friends of Anne “Amy” (Zavacky) Passarelli, who died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Butler.

There will be a Parastas service at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday.
