5 hurt in crash ending with truck on NYC sidewalk
NEW YORK — Authorities say a chain-reaction crash that ended on a sidewalk has critically injured three people in Manhattan.
It happened around 1 p.m. today at East 102nd Street and Park Avenue in the East Harlem neighborhood. The New York Fire Department says five people were hurt overall.
Authorities said it appeared the chain of events started when a taxi struck a truck. It says the truck then went onto the sidewalk, hurting a pedestrian.
It’s unclear how many of the injured were pedestrians.
