Roxie Mae Marshall Eddy

Roxie Mae Marshall Eddy, 87, of Dart, Ohio, went to be with the Lord and other family members at 8:55 a.m. Friday at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Jan. 29, 1926, in Butler, a daughter of the late William and Sarah Taylor Kroll.

At an early age, she worked in the lumber yard with her father at Kroll Lumber, and later worked at Rinks Department Store and as the assistant post master at the general store in Dart. She owned and operated the J&R Oil and Gas Co. and was a homemaker.

Roxie was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Church and had attended the Lawrence Baptist and Muskingum Valley Baptist churches. She also was a member of the Matamoras Chapter 261 of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary, and she belonged to All Faith Choir.

Roxie was married to James Theodore Marshall, who passed away on Aug. 19, 1974. She later married L. Dean Eddy, who passed away on April 26, 1994.

She is survived by her children, Robert J. (Sharon) Marshall, Sherry A. (Lloyd) Poulton and Cathy Jo Binegar; her stepson James R. (Kathy) Marshall; her grandchildren, Robert Marshall Jr., Lloyd (Sarah) Poulton III, Angela Binegar and Alisha (Shane) O'Conner; her step-grandchildren, Lisa (Mark) Adomaitis and Kristen (Chris) Lydon; her great-grandchildren, Taylor and Nikki Marshall, Emma and Ethan Poulton, Janessa Myers and Kasia, Easton and Nakya O'Conner; and her step-great-grandchildren, Nathan and Nichole Adomaitis and Nicholas and Carly Lydon; her sisters-in-law, Birdie Kroll, Glee Lang and Pearl Love, and her brother-in-law, Roy Marshall. She is also survived by her stepchildren and grandchildren of the Dean Eddy family.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy, Ralph, Robert and Rex Kroll, and her sister, “Betty” Ruth McConnell.
