Eleanor 'Neln' Ann (Henricks) Banfi

Eleanor “Neln” Ann (Henricks) Banfi, formerly of the Butler Arbors, passed away peacefully Tuesday surrounded by loved ones at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on March 3, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William and Anna (Yuhas) Henricks.

She had worked for the Castle Rubber Company for 28 years, also as a teacher’s aide at the United Cerebral Palsy for 16 years, was a Tupperware dealer, and was a sitter and companion for Irene Stacy, where she touched the lives of countless families.

She was a woman of strong faith, as she was a life member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church. She was a former member of the St. Fidelis choir, St. Fidelis Christian Mothers, and worked fish fries and funeral luncheons for many years. She was a member of numerous card clubs, and she enjoyed playing bingo and making ceramics. The most important thing to her was spending time with her numerous nieces and nephews. After retirement she enjoyed traveling as much as possible. Her favorite things were Elvis, Tweety bird and dark chocolate. She had a sweet smile that could brighten anyone’s day and spent her life taking care of others.

Surviving are her two sisters, Karen (John) Miller and Gloria (John) Antinucci; her brother, James (Mona) Henricks; her sister-in-law, Patricia Henricks, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Butch” Banfi, who she married June 25, 1958, he died in 1965; her sister, Margo; her brother, Joseph; and her nephew, Kevin Miller.

BANFI — The friends of Eleanor “Neln” Ann (Henricks) Banfi, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian.

Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Butler.

The bereavement committee of the St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home for a Parish Vigil Service.
