GROVE CITY — The Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV has hired Kimberly Eaton as the new director of business services.

She started work Oct. 21. She took over from Robert Barber, who retired in October.

The Grove City native has spent the past five years at the Quaker Valley School District as the assistant director of finance and operations.

Before that, she was a senior auditor at the former McGill, Power, and Bell LLP in Grove City.

She has a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing and a certificate in accounting from Slippery Rock University.

Wayde Killmeyer, executive director, said of Eaton, “She understands district concerns about intermediate unit expenses, and she has a deep understanding of what it takes to be a good steward of public money,” he said.

Killmeyer took over from Cecelia Yauger in September. Yauger resigned in April amid allegations that she bought thousands of dollars in personal items with an intermediate unit credit card over six years.

She is charged with theft and unauthorized use of a credit card.

Yauger, who is free on a $10,000 unsecured bond, is to appear in Mercer County Court on Tuesday for a formal arraignment.

The revelation of Yauger’s alleged activities led MIU IV to revise its policies regarding the use of credit cards.

MIU IV is one of 29 IUs in Pennsylvania and serves school districts in Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties. It provides more than 100 programs and services to school districts.
