Leonard Shaffer

Leonard W. Shaffer, 63, of Middlesex Township, passed away Sunday.

Born on June 11, 1950, in Tarentum, Pa., he was the beloved son of Doloras (Edmond) Grandizio of Valencia and the late Lillard Shaffer.

He was the loving husband for 33 years of Beverly A. (West) Shaffer; the dear father of Joseph A. (Heather) Scolaro of Valencia, Lisa M. (Thomas) Kloes of Butler, Ron R. (Leanne) Talik Jr. of Allison Park and the late Jeffrey M. Scolaro; the brother of Wayne E. Shaffer of Culmerville, Pa., and the late Lillard W. Shaffer; the uncle of Josh and Matt Shaffer and the late Eric Shaffer; the proud grandfather of Kristen Scolaro and Joseph A. Scolaro Jr., Thomas, Kelsey and Karley Kloes and Jackson and the late Connor Talik; and the great-grandfather of Tyler Scolaro. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Leonard was a truck driver for many years and had the uncanny ability to fix and handle any job that needed to be done. He loved his beloved dogs, but most of all, he was the best pap pap, father and husband a family could ask for.

SHAFFER — The family of Leonard W. Shaffer, who passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, Pa., where a blessing service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Father William Fay, celebrant.A private interment will be held in Holy Savior Cemetery, Gibsonia.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Butler County Humane Society.Please pay tribute at www.schellhaasfh.com.
