Fassinger

Margaret “Peg” Grace Fassinger, 98, formerly of Whitestown passed away Thursday in Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on July 6, 1915, in Butler County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Clara Shiever Sloan.

She was a lifetime member of the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church in Whitestown, where she belonged to Willing Workers and the Pleasant View Extension Club.

Mrs. Fassinger enjoyed walking outdoors and attending the Mt. Chestnut Senior Center. She will always be remembered for making her family quilts.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Cornetti of Prospect; her grandchildren, Keith Cornetti of Hilliards, Diane (Barry) Bryan of Bradford and Steven Cornetti of Zelienople; her great-grandsons, Justin and Tyler Bryan; her siblings, Ethel Kradel of Butler, Ruth Spack of Butler, Mabel Giles of Meadville, Beryl Gilliland of Evans City, Jean Oesterling of Meridian, Lawrence Sloan of Evans City and Robert Sloan of Meridian.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Fassinger, who she married Feb. 28, 1933, and who passed away March 6, 1991; her granddaughter, Sharon Cornetti; her grandson, Brian Cornetti, and her brothers, Clyde “Pete” Sloan, Harold Sloan and Ralph Sloan.

FASSINGER — The visitation for Margaret “Peg” Grace Fassinger, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church, Whitestown, with the Rev. Jeff Curtis, Pastor of the Mt.
