John F. Ries

John F. Ries, 90, of Ross Township passed away Tuesday.

John was a U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran, who piloted the B-29 Superfortress during World War II.

He was a highly respected engineer for Mesta Machine, and later WHEMCO. He was greatly loved by his family and friends, and he will be forever missed.

He was the beloved husband for 65 years of the late Kathryn L. Ries.

He was the father of John R. (Susan) Ries, Mary S. (Dennis) Wiles, Scott Ries and the late Ellen (surviving spouse, Scott) Pavlot; the proud grandfather of Matthew (Ashley) and Stephen Wiles, Laura and Andy Pavlot, and Annie, John and Adam Ries.

RIES — There will be no viewing for John F. Ries, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013. His friends are invited to attend a memorial service in the Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church, 517 Sangree Road, Pittsburgh, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Schellhaas Funeral Home, West View, Pa.In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations to Susan G.
