George A. Straynick
George A. Straynick, 77, of Butler died Monday at his home.
He was born on May 12, 1936, in Butler to the late Joseph and Mary Fedinski Straynick.
He worked in the shipping department at Butler Armco for 30 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
George enjoyed spending time at his camp in the mountains. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed raccoon hunting.
Surviving are three sons, George T. (Tammy) Straynick of Lyndora, Scott (Jennie) Straynick of Butler and John Straynick of Butler; one grandson, Zachary Straynick; three granddaughters, Heather Straynick, Chelsea Straynick and Katelyn Straynick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His beloved companion, Barbara Walters, also survives.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Straynick; his brother, John Straynick; and his sister, Ann Hoshak.
STRAYNICK — The friends of George A. Straynick, who died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian.
