Martin J. Farinelli

Martin J. Farinelli, 86, of Bloomfield School Road, Portersville, passed away Friday afternoon at the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony.

Mr. Farinelli was born in Ellwood City on Feb. 9, 1927. He was the son of the late John and Alvera Piscitelli Farinelli.

Martin was a long time member of St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect, where he had served as an usher.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Martin enjoyed working on the family farm and the company of his family. He was retired from U.S. Steel after working in Ellwood City and later in McDonald, Ohio.

Mr. Farinelli is survived by his wife, Ann Kudamik Farinelli, who he married in Lyndora on Feb. 3, 1951; five children, David M. Farinelli (Joanne) of Cranberry Township, Linda Updegraph (Robert) of Portersville, Barbara J. Farinelli of Fairfax, Va., Douglas M. Farinelli (Jean) of Springfield, Va., and Susan Stanley (William) of Portersville; 13 grandchildren, Kelly Rossman (Ryan), Jason and Laura Updegraph, Jon Farinelli (Jen), Michael, Kenny, and Kevin Farinelli, Chad and Chelsea Stanley, and Lynne, Sarah, Andrea and Mark Farinelli; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Natalie Rossman; four brothers, Augustine of Aliquippa, Philip of Evans City, George of Denison, Texas, and Paul of Kittanning; three sisters, Virginia Denny of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Ida Kudamik of Pensacola, Fla., and Caroline Urnosky of Clermont, Fla.; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Farinelli was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

FARINELLI — Friends of Martin J. Farinelli, who died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, will be received at the Jay Bryan Funeral Home, 443 Main St., Prospect from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, officiated by the Rev. Joseph Feltz. Interment and military honors will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Prospect.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 229 N. Franklin St., Prospect.
