Helen Druga Leavitt, 93, of Slippery Rock died Tuesday at her home of natural causes.

Born Sept. 5, 1920, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Julia Uram Druga.

Helen is survived by Stanley A. Leavitt, her husband of 34 years. They were married Feb. 9, 1979.

She was a member of Saint John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, the Ladies Guild, and the Greek Catholic Union. She was an avid golfer and a member of Armco Country Club since 1957. She was an avid bowler and loved playing cards, reading and writing poetry. Helen was truly known for her kindness and laughter.

Surviving are her son, William (Kathy) Dobda of Mentor, Ohio; her daughter, Christine (Stephen) Garrison of Slippery Rock; her stepdaughter, Roberta (Joe) Frizell of Orange County, Calif.; her sister, Evelyn Prokopchak of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Dobda, who died June 23, 1965; her stepson, Keith Leavitt; two brothers and five sisters.

LEAVITT — The friends of Helen Druga Leavitt, who died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. There will be a Parastas service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at the Chapel of Devotion at Butler County Memorial Park in Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at Four Gateway Center, 444 Liberty Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15222-1207 or to the Amedisys Hospice, 240 Pullman Square, Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
