Marie A. (Korczynski) Knapp, 81, of Jackson Township, Zelienople, passed away Sunday at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Born on March 9, 1932, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late John and Katharine (Lachka) Korczynski.

Marie was a faithful lifetime member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. An avid football fan, she enjoyed cheering for Notre Dame and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Marie was passionate about gardening and especially loved to plant dahlias and lilies. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two loving children, Gregory J. Knapp and his wife, Dana, of Zelienople and Alissa M. Geller and her husband, Matthew, of Florida; her five adored grandchildren, Kaleb, Emily and Hannah Knapp, all of Zelienople, and Madison and Macey Geller, both of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Francis Lee Knapp, who she married on Jan. 14, 1956, and who passed away on March 7, 1993, her five brothers and her sister.

KNAPP — The family of Marie A. (Korczynski) Knapp, who passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with Father Lawrence R. Smith, celebrant. Friends please meet at the church.

She will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in Zelienople.
