Clair William 'Bill' Wiskeman

Clair William “Bill” Wiskeman, 88, of Franklin Park borough passed away Saturday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born on July 31, 1925, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late William C. and Edith (Soergel) Wiskeman.

He was the husband for 62 years of the late Martha Jane Fisher, who passed away on Feb. 12, 2009.

Bill was an original resident of Franklin Park borough and lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He also belonged to the 716 Masonic Lodge of North Hills, the VFW West View and the American Legion.

Through the years, Bill was employed with several companies. For 35 years, he was a top salesman for Hahn Furniture Store, and he also parked cars at Soergel's Orchards for 25 years. Bill enjoyed his job as a bus driver for North Allegheny School.

He was known to many as the real Santa Claus because he adored being with children and adults. Later in life, his love for the outdoors led him to pursue a job in landscaping.

Bill and his late wife, Martha, had the pleasure of traveling to many states and countries together. In his free time, he enjoyed taking care of his home and his property. Above all, his wife and family were the joys of his life.

He is survived by his son, David Wiskeman of Butler; granddaughter, Sara Lynn Hunter of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Martha Jane Fisher, who passed away Feb. 12, 2009; his daughter, Cheryl June Hunter; granddaughter, Rachel Ann Hunter; and great-granddaughter, Paige.

Wiskeman — The family of Clair William “Bill” Wiskeman, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the King Funeral Home, 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park, Pa. A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2500 Brandt School Road, Wexford, with Pastor Fred Schenker officiating.
