Francis O. 'Pete' Knauff

Knauff

Francis Oliver “Pete” Knauff, 77, of Zelienople passed away Friday while at VA Butler Healthcare.

Born Sept. 9, 1936, in Jackson Township, he was the son of the late J.H. and Chloie E. (McCall) Knauff.

Pete proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and the Honor Guard to President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He had the honor to walk the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

He was employed by Halstead Mitchell and various farm dairies. He always jokingly said his daughters belonged to the milkman. He was a retired supervisor and roadmaster for Jackson Township. Pete was most proud of his occupation as a bus driver with A.J. Myers in the Seneca Valley School District. He adored each student as they did him.

His sense of humor and quick wit made him a friend to all. Above all, Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

The Knauff family would like to extend special thanks to the VA Butler Healthcare staff for all of their wonderful care.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 53 years, Emma Lou (Bintrim) Knauff, who he married on May 6, 1960; his daughters, Jodi Kerr and her husband, Dale, of Portersville and Tammy Klein and her husband, Michael, of Karns City; his four grandchildren, Cody Kerr of Portersville, Olivia Klein of Karns City, Bridget Klein of Karns City and Angela Marshall and her husband, Cody, of Las Vegas, Nev.; his brother, George Knauff of Zelienople; his two great-grandsons, James and Christian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
