Mary Jayne Patton

Mary Jayne Patton, 92, of Grove Manor, Grove City, formerly of Barkeyville and Winfield Drive, Grove City, passed away suddenly at 1:11 p.m. Saturday.

She was born in Butler on Feb. 17, 1921, to Matthew A. Skinner and Nellie A. Campbell Skinner.

She married Loyal R. Patton on Oct. 10, 1945, and he passed away on May 6, 1994.

She was a homemaker, and she was a member of the First Church of God, Barkeyville. She was a graduate of Butler High School, and a lifetime member of the VFW 159 and the Women's Auxiliary.

Survivors include four children, Nancy J. Covert and her husband, Joseph, of Grove City, Darlene J. Covington and her husband, Michael, of Odessa, Texas, Rodger L. Patton and his wife, Peggy, of Grove City and Alvin D. Patton and his fiancee, Marcia Miller, of Barkeyville; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two half-brothers, Lavern and George Snyder.

PATTON — The friends and family of Mary Jayne Patton, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, will be received at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Willard Morse, visiting pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.Memorial tributes may be made to the Christian Loving Fund, c/o Grove Manor, 435 N. Broad St., Grove City, PA 16127.
