James Donald Heasley, 71, of Thomas, W.Va., passed away Thursday at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio.

James was born on Aug. 3, 1942, a son of the late James Ferdinand Heasley and Bessie Louise Blatt Heasley.

Also preceding him in death were an infant son; a daughter, Loretta Dunmyer, and a brother, Ed Heasley.

He is survived by his significant other of 26 years, Helen Grupp; one son, Zachary Heasley of Marietta, Ohio; four daughters, Sebrina Heasley and Rachel (Calvin) Gross, both of St. Mary's, W.Va., LuAnn Collins of Butler and Julie Witt of Oklahoma; two brothers, Zeke and David Heasley, both of Midland, Texas, and three sisters, Donna Heasley of Midland, Texas, and Elizabeth Angert and Norma Jean Heasley, both of Butler. Three grandchildren, David Skinner, Sierra Skinner and Brayden Heasley, and one great-grandchild, Makayla Everett, also survive.

James was employed as a precision millwright in construction with Kam- Tech. He enjoyed working on small engines, fishing, yard sales and flea markets.

He was a Catholic.
