Stricken pilot of airliner dies in Boise
BOISE, Idaho — A Boise hospital says the stricken pilot of a United Airlines flight that made an emergency landing has died.
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Jennifer Krajnik said this morning that the pilot died overnight at the hospital. A United statement early today identified the man as a pilot on the flight. The airline did not give his name, citing privacy reasons.
United Flight 1603 with 161 passengers was flying from Houston to Seattle when the medical emergency forced it to make the landing about 8 p.m. Thursday in Boise.
The passengers were put on another plane and completed their trip to Sea-Tac Airport.
