William Lester Wingfield

William Lester Wingfield, 67, of Bogart, Ga., formerly of Butler, passed away Monday at his home.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1945, in Butler, the son of the late Robert and Mary (Anthony) Gould.

William was a Navy veteran.

He was a member of the William H. Miller Masonic Lodge and the Valley of New Castle Scottish Rite. Bill obtained a master's degree in business administration from Slippery Rock University, and later retired from Armco after 32 years of service. His last several years were spent as foreman of processing maintenance. He loved gardening and yard work.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Suzanne (Fennick) Wingfield of Bogart, Ga.; two sons, David Wingfield of Danielsville, Ga., and Eric Wingfield of Chicago, Ill.; and grandson, Samuel Wingfield of Bogart, Ga. He also is survived by a brother, Terry Wingfield, and a sister, Bonnie Riley, both of Butler.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Stierer.

Wingfield — Friends of William Lester Wingfield, who passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Friday with Dr. Curt McDaniel officiating.
