Agnes Gerner

Agnes I. “Aggie” Gerner, 89, of Cabot went home to be with the Lord on Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born on April 11, 1924, in Saxonburg, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Zora Belle “Dolly” (Ferree) Walters.

Aggie was a 1942 graduate of Butler High School.

She worked as a bookkeeper and vice president for Gerner Trucking.

She was a lifelong member of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Saxonburg, where she taught Sunday school and was active in Women’s Circles.

Surviving are her husband, Fred Gerner, who she married on Oct. 28, 1942; her son, William Gerner of Etters, Pa.; her daughter, Judy Moser of Cabot; her grandchildren, Leigh (Michael) Frailey, Cristie (Michael) Crytzer, Eric (Jennifer) Moser, Tara (Joe) Ziegmont and Amanda Gerner; her step-granddaughter, Virginia (Eric) Weygant; seven great-grandchildren; one step- great-grandchild; and her sisters, Kathryn Ziegler of West Sunbury and Ruth McMurray of Youngstown, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Adam Clyde Walters, Clifford Walters and Herbert Walters, and daughter-in-law, Janis Gerner.

GERNER — The friends of Agnes I. “Aggie” Gerner, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Saxonburg, with the Rev. Roger Keller officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to the St. Luke's Lutheran Church Ministry Fund, P.O. Box 187, 310 W.
