Jennie Nickita, 74, of Zelienople passed away Thursday while under the care of the Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

Born on Jan. 12, 1939, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Florence (Sutch) Nickita.

Jennie was a former member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

After many dedicated years of service, she retired from Douglas Aircraft.

Jennie enjoyed bird watching, playing solitaire, crossword puzzles and spending time on her computer.

She is survived by her brother, John Nickita and his wife, Jackie, of Zelienople; her two sisters, Mary Brittner and her husband, Herb, of Zelienople and Anna Long and her husband, Gordon, of Columbiana, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Loretta Groves and Virginia Pears; her brother, Nicholas Nickita; and her niece, Linda Kobet.

NICKITA — A graveside committal service for Jennie Nickita, who passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zelienople with the Rev. Wilfred Goetze, officiating.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
