Sheetz plans OK'd
BUTLER TWP — You could say the Sheetz convenience store planned for Center and Morton avenues is MTO.
The 6,500-square-foot plan, approved by township commissioners Monday night, has been tweaked and modified to fit the concerns of officials and residents last fall.
Then, multiple interested people attended meetings to object to the store, which is planned for a 3½- acre, county-owned lot.
But since then developers have added landscaping, changed the shape of the building so that it no longer fronts Center Avenue and moved the location of a single stall, fully automated car wash.
The finalized plan also includes six multi-gas pump dispensers and a drive-through food facility.
Residents, who first saw the new revisions this spring when the developer successfully asked for a zoning change to the property, did not speak at Monday’s meeting.
Some of the commissioners, including board President Ben Simon and Commissioner Joe Hasychak, congratulated the developers on reacting to the concerns that were raised earlier.
