Dolores 'Doe' Maletta

Dolores Maletta

Dolores “Doe” Maletta, 83, of Butler died Monday at Saxony Health Center.

Born on Aug. 19, 1929, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Mullen Heitzer.

She attended St. Paul School first through eighth grade and graduated from Butler High School in June of 1948. She was employed by Butler Stamping, Montgomery Ward Catalog Department on Main Street, was a manager for Top Value Stamps and retired from Magnetics.

She was a Catholic.

She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon (John) Twentier of Butler; one son, Jeffrey (Patricia Osborn) Leech of Butler; and one daughter-in-law, Patricia Leech of Chicora. Also surviving are two stepsons, Andrew (Gayle) Radwanski of Butler and Joseph (Lindy) Radwanski of Lancaster, Pa.; one stepdaughter, Patricia Radwanski of Butler; a close friend of 58 years, Freida Nelson of Butler; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Andrew Radwanski, who died in 1977, and Silvio Maletta, who died in 1990. She also was preceded by three brothers, John (Jack) Heitzer, Jerome “Shorty” Heitzer and James “Jim” Heitzer; four sisters, Kathryn “Kate” Summerville-Nash, Margaret “Peg” McGinnis, Anna Mae Mato and Lorraine Kaufman.

Maletta — Friends of Dolores “Doe” Maletta, who died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday. A blessing service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Butler.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
