Walter C. McConaughy
Walter C. McConaughy, 80, of New Brighton died Saturday at his home.
Born on April 25, 1933, in Bethesda, Ohio, he was the son of the late Carl and Dorothy Keiser McConaughy.
Walter was a Baptist.
He had retired as a security guard from Horseheads Industries, Monaca, Pa., with more than 30 years of service.
Walter is survived by his wife, Doris M. Rape McConaughy, who he married May 3, 1960; six daughters and their spouses, Cheryl Milligan and Cynthia Froehlich, both of Ohio, Mary Steiner of California, Donna Fath and Sally Nemeck, both of New Brighton, and Darlene Hilliard of Rochester; five sons and their spouses, Glenn of New Brighton, Melvin of Chippewa, Mark of Ohio, Donald of Beaver and Tim of Enon Valley; three sisters, Luella Kidd, Shirley Chappell and Priscilla Warwick, all of Ohio; 28 grandchildren, one especially, Melissa, who helped take care of her grandfather; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one infant grandson.
McConaughy — The family of Walter C. McConaughy, who died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, will receive family and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at theA. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home, with the Rev.
