Donald J. Lindsay
Donald J. Lindsay, 78, of Butler passed away Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 16, 1934, in Oakland Township, the son of the late Robert E. Lindsay Sr. and Wilda (Fritch) Lindsay.
Don was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Korean War.
Mr. Lindsay was retired from Armco. Also, he worked as a member of the Butler Township Auxiliary Police Department and held various security position in the community. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he was very active in helping out. He loved to fish, golf and work outdoors in his yard and he enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach and Lake Erie. He was a Syria Shriner and belonged to the American Legion 117.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Doreen J. (Clark) Lindsay; two sons, Kevin D. (Cindy) Lindsay and David S. (Traci) Lindsay, all of Butler; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Smith, Jeremy (Neysa) Lindsay, James (Meredith) Lindsay, Corey Lindsay and Lauren Lindsay, all of Butler; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nicolas, Julian, Jacob and Adelyn; a sister, Marilyn (Robert) McGardy of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Lindsay of Butler.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Terry L. Lindsay, and a brother, Robert E. Lindsay Jr.
LINDSAY — Friends of Donald J. Lindsay, who passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.Services will be at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E.
